According to our sources, Ninjas in Pyjamas are interested in Jack "Jackinho" Ström Mattsson while Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz is expected to extend his medical leave.
Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz joined Ninjas in Pyjamas in April 2021 and was destined to lead the Swedish team into a new era, just a few months before the PGL Major in Stockholm. For his part, the four-time Major winner could continue to write his legend, far from his former Astralis teammates.

If the beginnings were very promising, the lack of a permanent fifth player and the use of players from the academy like Erik "ztr" Gustafsson and Linus "LNZ" Holtäng, slowed down the progress of the roster. A problem that was solved with the signing of Patrick "es3tag" Hansen from Complexity, but only after placing top 5/8 at the PGL Major.

Beyond the sporting results, it appears that dev1ce had personal problems that began to impact his health. In fact, during the IEM Winter 2021, the Dane did not finish the tournament after the group phase and the quarter finals. It is again a player from the Young Ninjas, Love "phzy" Smidebrant that finished the event.

At the end of December, we reported that dev1ce was interested in returning to Astralis, while he had moved from Sweden and returned to Denmark due to his personal problems. The player reacted on Twitter the next day, saying that there was no question of leaving NiP, that he was taking some time off and that he was looking forward to a "brilliant 2022".

According to our sources in collaboration with Dexerto, Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz is expected to extend his medical leave and will not compete in the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2022. He will be replaced by Love "phzy" Smidebrant for that event.

The extension of this medical leave could extend over several months, forcing NIP to find a replacement for him. Former fnatic Jack "Jackinho" Ström Mattsson is targeted by the organization and should get the sniper left free by the Danish superstar. The Swedish left fnatic in november after almost a year with the team.

Meanwhile, Jackinho replaced phzy today with the Young Ninjas against Sangal, in a match that is part of the Malta Vibes Knockout Series 5.

Contacted by us, NIP said: "Nicolai is still recuperating and we want him to take his time to get back at full speed. phzy will step in for BLAST — again showing the strengths of having a good academy roster. Jack is filling in for phzy while he's subbing for Dev1ce — meaning that he will play with Young Ninjas for Malta Vibes."
