Posté par neLendirekt,
While many players are left without a contract or on the bench of their teams, a new Danish squad is starting from scratch.
Denmark is a major scene in CS world, with a lot of talented players both in their local teams and many international ones. Scandinavian players are highly rated because of their near perfect English and of their mentality, which is generally considered to be particularly adapted to team play.

With COVID and the current state of the scene, many players have found themselves free agents or on the bench of various teams. Danish players are no exception, which is why some of them have decided to regroup to form a competitive domestic squad. Two former North players went for starting a new project, Nicklas "gade" Gade and Philip "aizy" Aistrup.

They are joined by two players who recently touched the top tier. Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye, who is currently on the bench in FaZe Clan and Johannes "b0RUP" Borup, who was top 2 in the world with Heroic last year but got dropped less than a month ago. Finally, the very promising Frederik "Fessor" Sørensen completes the roster. He is currently a member of BLUEJAYS, a European team which is struggling to make a name for itself.

Kjaerbye, aizy and gade played together in North, winning the GG.Bet Ice Challenge and the DreamHack Open Sevilla in 2019.

On paper, this team has a lot of potential, with enough talent and experience to quickly break into the top 30. However, there are a few obstacles standing in the way of the project, while gade would be allowed to leave for free, Kjaerbye, b0RUP and Fessor are all under contract with their respective squads and aizy status is unclear at the moment. Therefore, it would be necessary for them to find an organization that is interested in investing in CS, which is quite rare at the moment, and which would also pay the buyouts of the involved players. Any interested party can contact the team at this email address: gadenicklas@gmail.com.

Nicklas "gade" Gade answered our questions in collaboration with HLTV:

What made you decide to put this team together alongside two former North teammates? What are your thoughts on the lineup?

Since North ceased operations I had been talking back and forth with kjaerbye and aizy. Talking about how we wanted to reunite and build a new team. We wanted to find our approach of the game, what type of players we wanted to play with and what we would like to accomplish and gain from this project. I think all of us aligned our expectations and standards, which is a really good thing. Then Heroic made their changes, and me and b0rup actually go way back before both of us "turned pro", and we had always been joking around with us playing in the same team, now I am just super happy that it finally became reality. Fessor is for sure a new rising star and I really felt that the decision of adding him to the team was a no brainer.

Are you confident that you'll be able to find an organisation willing to support the team and buy out three of the players?

It's a rough situation with the pandemic and orgs jumping into other games as of right now, but I do believe that the good things come to those who are patient and hardworking.

What are your expectations for this team?

Right now it's about developing and performing so that we can have a breakthrough into the scene.
