Posté par neLendirekt,
Astralis will not participate in cs_summit 6 to avoid penalties related to player changes and general planning around the team.
In the last few weeks, Astralis has seen two players from its historic team take breaks of several months for health reasons. Leader Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander and "clutch minister" Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth have indeed given way to their new player Jakob "JUGi" Hansen and to Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer as stand-in.

Astralis has decided not to participate in the European cs_summit 6 which takes place between June 22nd and July 5th and which distributes points for the Major Regional Ranking (RMR). A decision that seems logical given that a participation would cause them to lose 40% of their points as a result of the two changes. This penalty could eventually drop to 20% if they use the coach's rule which is still regularly used to bypass the rules.

It also makes sense given the short preparation time the Danish team has after undergoing the two changes one after the other. All in all, Astralis would have a lot more to lose than to gain from participating in this tournament.

When contacted by us, Astralis confirmed this information and Kasper Hvidt, the Director of Sports at Astralis Group explained this choice:

"We can confirm we have decided not to participate in BTS, which was added rather late to the calendar as a part of the Major Qualifiers. This is due to our general planning around the team and the way we would be punished for substituting players. Unfortunately it would make no sense for Astralis to play this tournament under the given circumstances."

As a reminder, the RMR is an addition of points between the Major of Berlin 2019 and 3 qualifying tournaments: the ESL One Road to Rio, the cs-summit 6 and a last competition which will be organized next autumn.

Given their lead of 720 points, Astralis will still be in the top part of the ranking even if they avoid playing the cs_summit 6 and will even be able to participate in the last RMR tournament with their classic formation without any penalties.
